Brilliant and Resilient Portraits on Exhibit Summer 2017 (not hosted by GlobalPDX)

Oregon’s Eugene/Springfield community played a significant role in developing the leadership capacity of hundreds of disabled women from around the world. An exhibit coming to the University of Oregon campus provides an intimate glimpse into some of their stories.

June 10, 2017 – August 27, 2017

This summer, the University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (JSMA) in Eugene, Oregon will exhibit “Brilliant and Resilient: Celebrating the Power of Disabled Women Activists.”

The Brilliant and Resilient photo exhibit features a collection of professional images by world-renowned photographers and personal stories of an unparalleled group of women representing a variety of cultures, countries and disabilities. All are alumni of MIUSA’s Women’s Institute on Leadership and Disability (WILD). These emerging and established leaders have used determination, drive, and resilience to confront discrimination and make unique contributions in their communities and in the world.

Attend the Reception

Supporters and community members are invited to attend a free public reception at the museum on the evening of Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 5:30 – 7pm. To RSVP, please click here.

MIUSA CEO and co-founder Susan Sygall as well as Suz Dunn, WILD Program Manager, will speak at the event to comment on the local and global impact of disabled women activists from around the world.
