Please join us for an evening with the Honorable Tulinabo Mushingi, United States Ambassador to Angola and Sao Tome y Principe. The title of his talk is “From Eastern Congo to Foggy Bottom: the improbable journey of an American Diplomat.”

The Ambassador Edward J. Perkins Speaker Series Fund was established in September 2020 to recognize the incredible work of former student and Lewis & Clark life trustee, the late Ambassador Edward J. Perkins.

This year’s event will feature a talk entitled “From Eastern Congo to Foggy Bottom: the improbable journey of an American Diplomat.” by US Ambassador to Angola and Sao Tome y Principe Tulinabo Mushingi.

Tulinabo Salama Mushingi is an American diplomat who has served as the United States ambassador to Angola and the United States ambassador to São Tomé and Príncipe since 2022. He previously served as the United States ambassador to Burkina Faso from 2013 to 2016, and a joint appointment as United States ambassador to Senegal and United States ambassador to Guinea-Bissau from 2017 to 2022. He also served in the executive offices of Secretaries of State John F. Kerry and Hillary Clinton.
