Gender, Disability and Development Institute (GDDI)
06/15/2022 - 06/16/2022
Mobility International USA presents the Gender, Disability, & Development Institute (GDDI), a unique opportunity for the international development community to engage in direct dialogue about including women and girls with disabilities in international development and humanitarian projects worldwide.
Join us in-person for 2022 in beautiful Eugene, Oregon! GDDI co-convenes with the Women’s Institute on Leadership and Disability (WILD), MIUSA’s signature leadership program for disabled women coming from different countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.
Together with the WILD delegates, you’ll devise strategies for including disabled women and girls as a cross-cutting issue in thematic areas such as:
- gender equity
- poverty reduction
- political participation
- climate change
- human rights
- economic development
- emergency response
- violence prevention
- youth development and leadership
- and other topics!
Following the event, international development actors will gain new knowledge about disability-related accommodations, country-specific resources, contacts for future collaboration, and strategies to bolster their organization’s commitment to inclusion.
