This Lunch & Learn teaches four steps to increasing your persuasiveness, takes a deeper look at how cultural divide, personal narratives, and the positive language tools that are at play in your professional communications. Melanie will explore how to identify and adapt to others’ styles to increase your communication impact, gain positive attention, build rapport, and increase your powers of influence. She will provide a template for your use to prepare for your next important and challenging conversation.

This session is lead by international negotiator Melanie Billings-Yun. Dr. Billings-Yun is the author of Beyond Dealmaking: Five Steps to Negotiating Profitable Relationships. A professor in the Master of International Management program at Portland State University, Billings-Yun has spent two decades helping businesses, NGOs and public agencies strengthen their internal and external relationships.

This is an hour long presentation, with 30 minutes of post-event Q&A and networking.
