About this Event

Get ready to enjoy a “Full Evening Out” at the 2nd Annual International African Fashion Show and Art Auction. The event is sponsored by the Women’s Lifestyle Coaching LLC and benefits the Firmina Foundation. The Foundation builds schools in 3 different African countries.

The Founder, Rukshana Triem, is herself a refuge from Zambia by way of Malawi and Mozambique. At the age of 15 her family came to America to start a new life with hope, promise and excitement. After many years of learning, living, an autobiography, and starting a coaching business, she decided to take her Grandmother Firmina’s advice and build schools.

She wanted to give back to those countries that poured passion for education into her. Children have previously been educated under mango trees and as romantic as that may sound to some, it is not the optimum situation for learning.

The Foundation was founded in 2018. After several fundraising events from a general auction to a full-blown women’s conference with a fashion show in 2020, a school was built in Mozambique. When the conference and fashion show happened, it went from a venue to virtual, just like everything else during Covid. However, what else it did was let Rukshana find what made her passionate…the Fashion Show! Thus, our 2nd Annual Fashion Show was born. The additional art auction came about when she made a trip to Africa to gather fabric for the fashion designer of our show and realized how much beautiful African art there is.

This event has evolved into a full-blown extravaganza of fashion design, art, African foods, wine, drumming, dancers, a cocktail hour before and an after-party to make for a Full Evening Out! All this benefitting the Firmina Foundations mission of “Empowering Children Through Education”.

These funds will be used in Malawi to allow handicapped children to attend school. We are looking forward to all the goodness that this event will bring to the children, their parents, the village and the world at large. We know that with education the world will be in their hands.
