(Portland, OR) July 28, 2022 – Medical Teams International is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its 7th annual Healthy Women, Healthy World Luncheon in-person this September. The event will feature guest speaker Sheryl WuDunn, acclaimed author and Pulitzer Prize winning journalist. Medical Teams will also honor Humanitarian Woman of the Year, Kathi Karnosh, longtime volunteer and advocate for Medical Teams’ work.

About Sheryl WuDunn
Sheryl WuDunn is a Chinese American journalist, author, business executive and lecturer. She became the first Asian American woman to be awarded a Pulitzer Prize for her journalistic coverage of the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989. Since then, WuDunn has gone on to receive many awards for her advocacy work and was honored by Newsweek as one of the “150 Women Who Shake the World”. She has written several best-selling books with her husband, Nicholas D. Kristof. Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide centers on the impact empowering women in developing countries has to holistically transform their communities. Their most recent book, Tightrope: Americans Reaching for Hope, is a look at the struggles of working-class America set in Kristoff’s home in rural Yamhill, Oregon. Today, WuDunn speaks out in support of women’s rights, economic issues, and non-profit funding.
