World Food Day|John Teton – Second Stage Rocket: Oregon, International Law, and the Eradication of World Hunger

10/16/2017 @ 5:00 am - 6:30 am

$15

The right to food is a basic human right. Investing in sustainable food systems and rural development means addressing some of the major global challenges – from feeding the world’s growing population to protecting the global climate, and tackling some of the root causes of migration and displacement. On the occasion of World Food Day (sponsored by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), John Teton, founding director of the Oregon-based International Food Security Treaty Association discusses the International Food Security Treaty, a bold initiative that aims to fulfill the human right of freedom from hunger and protect it with enforceable international law.
