Portland Refugee Support Group (PRSG) seeks a full-time, results-oriented professional interested in supporting the mission, vision, and ongoing development of a growing organization. The Tech Equity Coordinator will fill an essential role in PRSG’s work to close the digital divide gap that exists within the refugee and asylum seeking communities. Funded by the ARPA Digital Divide Grant, PRSG will implement the Digital Attainment and Education Project, which seeks to provide these communities with the following services in the Portland metropolitan area:
- free laptops and digital accessories
- ongoing digital literacy skills workshops and classes
- long-term, individualized digital navigation support
- connections with other community organizations for additional digital skills resources
The Tech Equity Coordinator will work in collaboration with PRSG’s Education Coordinator/staff and volunteers to ensure the implementation and success of this project, as well as providing long-term services and support after the project’s completion. The ultimate goal of the Tech Equity Coordinator is to ensure that the communities served by PRSG have equal access to technology as well as the training necessary to navigate digital tools, resulting in better career opportunities and access to education which align with their own individualized goals and ambitions.
