Session 1) The first step: I have a great idea, now what?

Nancy Press (CEO of Child Aid) and Pete La Raus (COO of Whole Child International) lead this conversational session focused on starting a non-profit. Learn from these successful leaders as they share their experiences and give some tips for people starting out on this challenging but rewarding path.

Have you ever considered starting an NGO? Are you excited? Enraged? Engaged? Altruistic? Identified a need that you can meet? Nancy and Pete describe their experiences in an interactive Lunch & Learn about some of the common opportunities, pitfalls, mistakes and glorious moments of doubt and exultation involved in turning an idea into an organization.  If you have ever thought about starting an NGO, there is a lot to think about before you even get to the “how do I do it” part.

This session will ask participants to undergo introspection and exercises to generate group conversation.
