Natalie Deehan-Clark serves as a GlobalPDX Ambassador and the Communications Coordinator for the Center for Renewable Energy & Appropriate Technology for the Environment. Natalie earned her BS in Advertising from the School of Journalism & Communication at the University of Oregon. Upon graduation, her aspiration to continue learning led her on a journey around the world for one year. This gave Natalie first-hand experience with the diverse challenges some rural communities are facing and solidified her desire to work on sustainable solutions and community empowerment. Through her travel and work experiences, Natalie became interested in the power of storytelling as a catalyst for education and social change to create a sustainable and equitable future.

Elana Lynn is a GlobalPDX Ambassador who has a passion for building connections especially among people who are trying to enter the professional workforce. Elana earned their Associates in Environmental Health at the University of Georgia and moved to Oregon in 2020 to finish their Bachelor's in Environmental Studies at Lewis and Clark College. Since moving to Oregon in the middle of a pandemic they have learnt the importance of having a support system and people to connect with. Elana is also a social media wizz and looks forward to helping GlobalPDX boost their social media presence. They look forward to getting to grow with GlobalPDX and helping others in their community to grow and connect with each other.

Sheila Walters Matsuda - Through GlobalPDX, I hope to share my expertise and understanding of beneficiary perspectives and NGO implementation and sustainability challenges - especially with regards to WASH, watershed management, women’s empowerment, income diversification, and livestock multiplication interventions.

My strengths are in intercultural communication and participatory qualitative evaluation research. My goal is to contribute to global peace through familiarity with languages, cultures, histories, and livelihoods. I look forward to working with Portland-based organizations that recognize and respect the environment and diversity of perspectives.

Jacob Dodds is a GlobalPDX Ambassador who is focusing on increasing equity and inclusion in projects and programs. As a MPA graduate student at Portland State University, Jacob studies global leadership and management. Additionally, he works in social services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and has a passion for this field. Jacob’s work experience ranges from serving in the Peace Corps in Indonesia to conducting need’s assessments for adults with disabilities. Jacob hopes to continue finding ways to increase equity and inclusion for vulnerable populations.
